Silver Lake, Flat Tire and Planet Play

Yesterday we met up with the Sandor's to drive up to Silver Lake. It's a beautiful lake with a nice walking path around it, which was good for the strollers. We also had a lovely dinner with Nicole's parents last night. They might not be southern, but the McCarthy's are definitely one of the most hospitable families I know!

This morning we decided to drive down to Thanksgiving Point, a cute little village area that has a barnyard complete with a petting zoo and a cool dinosaur museum. Unfortunately when we were a few miles away, we got a flat tire! Two other cars had flat tires in the same area, so there must have been a piece of metal in the road. The worst part was that whatever it was cut through the rim as well as the tire! After John changed the tire out and we arrived at Thanksgiving point, it ended up being so crowded that we decided to leave. If only we had stayed away in the first place! We tracked down a new tire and rim just in case we run into tire trouble again.

After all of that excitement, we met up with the Sandor's one last time at Planet Play. All the littles had fun playing games and riding rides. It's always a bit sad to say good bye to dear friends, but I'm hopeful that we'll be able to keep up with the trend of seeing each other once a year. Hugs and thanks from all of us to the McCarthy's and Sandor's for a wonderful visit in Salt Lake!

We're currently on the road again! We decided to try to get a few hours down the road so that our drive into Jackson Hole, Wyoming isn't as long tomorrow.
