Cousins

This week Big Sister and Little Bud were able to spend time with cousins from both sides of the family.    Their Dudley cousins came over after school one afternoon (and of course I got caught up visiting with them and forgot to take pictures!), and Friday we had a surprise last minute visit from two of their cousins from my side of the family.

Big Sister was excited to spend time with her "friends" and enjoyed both visits so much!  Little Bud always likes the extra attention he receives when family or friends stop by for a visit :)

Homewood Park

The last two weekends, we've taken the littles to Homewood Park.  I've always heard Birmingham parents talk about what fun their kids have there, but since it's a bit out of the way for us, we've never gone.  But, for various reasons, we found ourselves up that way last Saturday and again today.  Both times the kids have had a blast!  Big Sister always enjoys meeting new friends and "mothering" all the kids she thinks are smaller than she is :)  Little Bud is happy to swing the day away, and even enjoyed a few trips down the slide today.

Valentines!

This year Big Sister was very into making valentines for all of the special people in her life.   The girl seriously loves anything crafty, and she also likes giving gifts of any kind, so Valentines Day is right up her alley!  Making crafts also helped distract Big Sister from the days and days of rain we endured last week.  Thank goodness for the sunshine this weekend!

11 months

We've had lots of fun watching Little Bud's personality develop over the last month!  He continues to be my little sweetheart, but he's also not afraid to let you know when he needs something or feels left out.  Eating is definitely his favorite activity, and he prefers to feed himself.  After weeks of trying to keep him from inspecting every bite AFTER we put it in his mouth (meaning he would pull out whatever you fed him and look it over before smashing it back into his mouth), we gave in and are now letting him feed himself.  Mealtime is a much more pleasant experience for us all now.  Hopefully at some point, he'll master the fork and spoon so that he's not a total disaster after every meal.

He's starting to crawl on his hands and knees, and pulls himself up on anything and everything.  This weekend we even found him holding onto and walking around Big Sister's table and kitchen set.

He loves to cuddle when he's sleepy and gives the best kisses!  As I'm typing this, he's giving himself kisses via a little play mirror :)

He LOVES to play with Daddy, and he is the most ticklish baby I've ever known.  Sometimes he'll even start giggling when I rub his back.

Here's his 11 month stats:
Size 3 Diapers
3 to 6 month pants
6 to 9 month shirts
12 month one piece outfits
7 teeth (4 on top, 3 on bottom)

He nurses 4 times a day and also has at least 1, 5 oz bottle of coconut milk
He eats 3 meals a day, plus a couple of snacks

He'll go for his one year check up the first of next month.  I'll be interested to see how much he's grown over the last 3 months.

I love this little guy so much!!

I love this silly little face!
