You Make My Heart Shine

A few weeks ago I made Big Sister and Little Bud a strawberry slushie (it was super fancy and consisted of frozen strawberries and store bought lemonade).  Big Sister was SO excited!  After she finished her drink, she asked me to come over to her, because she had something to tell me.  After I walked over she smiled at me and said, "Mommy, you make my heart shine!".  I guess food is the way to her heart ;)

CC End of Year Program

Last month we went to Big Sister's end of year program for her Classical Conversations group.  Big Sister's class recited the planets, and all of the kids sang the time line song together.  We are going to be moving to a CC community that's closer to us next year, and we will miss the friends we made at the Pelham CC!

Cousin Fun!

A few weeks ago Big Sister and Little Bud's cousins spent the day with us.  I wasn't quite sure if I was up for taking care of 4 kids all by myself, so Jamie volunteered to keep Little Bud so that I could take the older 3 to the McWane Center.  We had fun checking out all of the exhibits before catching an IMAX movie.  Big Sister loved the movie!  It was her first time in an IMAX theater, and she was super impressed!  After the movie we headed to Chipotle for lunch before meeting Jamie and Little Bud at Steel City Pops.

The River House

A few weeks ago Jamie mentioned that she was going up to the River House for a few days, so we decided to go as well. Grams and Papa were there too, and my Dad's brother even came up from sunny central Florida for the week.  John's been a bit busier than normal at work, so it was a good time for us to get away for a few days.

McQueen

Little Bud is slightly obsessed with Lightning McQueen.  If he sees ANYTHING with McQueen's picture on it (plate, shirt, towel, toy, etc.), he goes wild with excitement.  Sometimes he even causes a scene in a store because he's screaming, cheering and pointing to a McQueen treasure he's spotted.  Big Sister and Little Bud's sweet friends recently passed down their battery powered Lightning McQueen riding toy to Little Bud, and he has enjoyed many hours riding (and even pushing) McQueen around the yard.  Big Sister has a power wheels Jeep that Grams and Papa gave her for Christmas a few years ago, but she even likes to take McQueen for a spin every now and then (I think it's easier to maneuver than the Jeep).  Little Bud has graciously shared with her :)
