Birthday Party Fun!

This past Sunday, we celebrated Big Sister and Little Bud's birthdays with our family and friends.  We decided a while ago to combine their parties, since their special days are so close together.

When we were trying to decide on a theme for their celebration, a "Peppa and George" party easily won!  Ever since Aunt Jamie brought Big Sister a set of Peppa Pig books back from a trip to Ireland, she has been a Peppa fan.  I'm quite certain that we've read those 5 books to her at least a thousand times (she's accumulated other Peppa books too, all of which we've read countless times).  When Little Bud came along, Big Sister was excited to have a little brother just like Peppa Pig; she even tried to convince us to name him Richard Rabbit, after one of the characters on the show.  Probably because Peppa Pig is still one of Big Sister's favorites, Little Bud enjoys watching an episode every now and then too (watching Peppa and her brother George is one of the only things that will calm the boy down when he has one of his up all night teething "parties").  While Peppa Pig is gaining popularity on this side of the pond, there are NO birthday supplies to be found anywhere in the US of A (besides the ones on Amazon that sell for 20 times their original cost).  So, we found a reasonably priced UK party supply company that was willing to ship to us, and ordered a few themed supplies.  Big Sister was so excited when they arrived in the mail.  The smile on her face, made the extra effort totally worth it!  Props to Whole Foods for the cake; they always come through for us; maybe next year I'll attempt to bake/decorate their cake myself.  Maybe.

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate our sweet kiddos.  It's always nice to spend an afternoon surrounded by friends and family.  Big Sister and Little Bud (and John and I) are so blessed to have such a wonderful group of family and friends!

You simply can't have a Peppa/George party without a
Bouncy Castle!!

I remembered too late that I bought Big Sister a cute birthday bib
for her smash cake experience on her first birthday.  Oops!
Sorry Little Bud; being the second child definitely has it's
positives and negatives!
